The compensation of presbyopia with contact lenses is based on the modulation of spherical aberration and on the concept of visual simultaneity: the light energy that crosses the multifocal module is not focused in a point, but in a space that identifies the “Depth of Focus”. This range is determined by the distribution of light energy in relation to the value of the addition and the dimensional contribution of each area dedicated to the vision for Far, Intermediate and Near.
At the retinal and cortical levels, the visual process is characterized by the contemporary perception of not perfectly defined images and this requires a period of adaptation to overcome the initial difficulties. In order to promote the result and maximize the quality of vision, TSLAC has developed different multifocal modules to be selected according to the needs of the wearer.
Simultaneous vision design Center Near (CN), ideal in the evident and consolidated presbyopia, combined with Spherical and Back Toric (Prismatic and Dynamic). The addition area has a standard size of 1.7 mm; this parameter can be modified in relation to visual needs and ocular dominance: in dominant eye the dimension can be reduced to 1,5 mm to improve the distance, while in the counter-lateral it is increased to 1,9 mm to facilitate proximal activity.
Addition: values from +0.50 to +3.50 with +0.25D step.
The corrective mode adopted is the “modified monovision”, which combines multifocal lac simultaneous vision, but with opposite profiles: in the dominant the progression is selected Center Far (PRO5-L), in the dominated the Center Near (PRO5-N) is fitted; this combination balances the visual needs of the presbyter.
PRO5 modules are available for Spherical and Back Toric (Prismatic and Dynamic).

Simultaneous vision drawing, suitable in the early and manifest phases of presbyopia. The PRO6 module is characterized by concentric rings calculated to obtain a corrective effect without optical interference. The central area is dedicated to vision for far (CF), while the rings with alternating power far-near allow the intermediate and proximal observation.
The PRO6 module is associated with Spherical and Back Toric contact lens with dynamic stabilization.
